Highlights
Performance Review
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X e-trike is equipped with full suspension for better traction and stability on uneven surfaces and a powerful 750W Bafang motor mounted in the front wheel partnered with a 48-volt large Samsung battery. You can enjoy riding this trike in three different modes, like a normal bike, with a pedal assist, or on a full electric twist throttle. The Soletri M-366X also comes with a rotatable handlebar that can be adjusted depending on your liking, and 7 levels of pedal assist for a more flexible riding experience.
Though the motor is placed in the front of the trike, it still manages to provide a stable ride which is an issue for most front-mounted motor electric trikes. This e-trike is designed perfectly for seniors to ensure their safety and ease of use, providing a top speed of 19 mph.
Performance Summary
Top Speed
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X gives a top speed of 19 mph which falls under the class 2 designation, perfect for people who want steady and not-so-fast rides (best for adults). But it is important to mention that when you ride this electric trike on curved edges, expect a slight lean on the side since it is quite common on trikes.
Acceleration
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X gives a swift and gradual acceleration with its front-mounted 750W motor that provides a 1200W peak power. I could maintain a top speed of up to 19mph in 13 seconds on a flat surface and in standard wind conditions.
Hill Climb
With the motor being mounted on the front of the trike, the Addmotor Soletri M-366X struggled on terrains with more than 12 degrees of incline. It can still pass the incline test but at a very slow pace with a solo ride. If you’re looking for an electric trike that can effortlessly go on steep inclines, I suggest the RAEV Bullet GT. After all, this trike is designed for adults.
Range
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X features a large 48V 20Ah Samsung battery, claiming a range of up to 45 miles when you use the lowest pedal assistance. However, please keep in mind that this range can vary based on factors like your total weight or inclines in the terrain. When I tested it on flat terrain with the highest level of pedal assist, I managed to cover around 25.5 miles on the 7th pedal assist. While it doesn’t match the claimed range, it’s still a good range for those looking for extended rides.
If you’re on the lookout for an electric vehicle with a more dependable longer range, you might want to check the Aniioki A8 Pro Max, which is equipped with a large 48V 60Ah battery.
Ride Quality
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X electric trike provides a comfortable riding experience. It comes with a banana seat and a convenient wooden footrest that adds to the overall comfort during your trips. You can also adjust and rotate the handlebar to find the perfect ergonomic riding position for yourself. The rotatable handlebars are designed with your comfort in mind, fostering an upright posture and easy access to the controls.
The Soletri M-366X showed impressive agility, allowing it to perform intricate maneuvers with ease. This nimbleness makes it a joy to navigate through tight and narrow spaces. However, it’s worth noting that during turns or curvy corners at high speeds, you might experience some leaning, which is a common characteristic of three-wheelers, as I mentioned earlier.
Braking
The Soletri M-366X is equipped with Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes, which include 3 x 180 mm disc rotors on each wheel. While hydraulic brakes might have been a better option, the mechanical brakes on this electric trike are still quite manageable, especially considering its top speed of 19mph. Additionally, the Soletri M-366X comes with a useful parking brake that allows you to safely immobilize the electric trike whenever you need to stop – whether it’s for a quick flat terrain break or parking on an incline. This added feature enhances safety during your rides.
Suspension
The Addmotor Soletri M-366X boasts a full suspension system designed to absorb shocks and vibrations, offering riders a high level of comfort and excellent cushioning for rough terrain. Each suspension component provides an impressive 80 mm of travel, guaranteeing a smooth and comfortable ride whether on bumpy or flat roads and delivering ample suspension support for city commutes. This is a great feature that you can’t get on other electric trike competitors.
