The Addmotor CityTri E-310 is a remarkable electric trike that doesn’t compromise on quality, performance, or aesthetics to maintain its super-affordable price tag. Featuring a folding alloy frame, it offers a large Samsung battery, a robust motor, a parking brake, ergonomic controls, and an array of impressive features.

Addmotor CityTri E-310 Trike

Launched in 2019, Addmotor is one of the oldest names in the electric personal mobility sector. Over all these years, the brand has released an impressive range of electric bikes and electric trikes, catering to riders of all ages and skill levels. Addmotor’s products are powerful and stylish, but what truly distinguishes the brand is their exceptional value-for-money proposition that extends across their entire product lineup.

Addmotor has recently unveiled a new folding e-trike, the CityTri E-310, and I had since been eager to conduct its review. This electric trike is available in three wheel sizes, with all 3 trims being exactly similar in specs and performance. The CityTri E-310 upholds high standards in quality, performance, and aesthetics while remaining competitively priced in the electric trike market. It boasts an array of impressive features, including a powerful engine, a large Samsung battery, and a plush saddle complete with a supportive backrest, among other highlights. Let’s see what else it offers.

Performance Review

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 folding electric trike is equipped with a 750W motor installed in the rear end, which relies on a massive 48-volt Samsung battery and delivers up to 1400 watts of peak power. This trike offers three distinct riding modes: a conventional bike mode, motor-assisted pedaling, or full electric throttle control. Furthermore, you have the flexibility to select from seven levels of Pedal Assistance (PAS) to fine-tune the amount of extra power you desire while pedaling, enhancing the overall ease and efficiency of your ride. The trike uses a speed/ cadence sensor.

The 750W motor is impressively potent, generating an impressive 90 Newton meters of torque. Since the motor is not placed in front (like most other e-trikes), there is no wheel slippage even when navigating steep inclines on loose terrain. It’s worth mentioning that this phenomenon is common among all electric bikes and trikes featuring a front hub motor… but thanks to rear placement of the motor, that’s not the case with the E-310!

Performance Summary

Top Speed
25.5 miles (PAS 7)
Acceleration (0 to 20mph)
13 seconds
Braking Distance (20mph to 0)
6.2 feet

During my test ride of the Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike on straight, well-paved roads, it exhibited an impressive acceleration thanks to its robust 750W motor that can emit a peak 1400W output. I could easily reach a top speed of 19mph in approximately 13 seconds under normal wind conditions. Once I hit that speed, the trike maintained a consistent pace throughout the entire ride following the brisk start.

Top Speed

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 comes with Class 2 compliance, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of roughly 20mph (well, 19mph to be precise). This speed is suitable for a wide range of riding scenarios. Nevertheless, it’s important to be aware that when making sharp turns at high speeds, the electric trike may slightly lean to one side (a common trait shared by most three-wheelers).

Hill Climb

During my test ride of the Addmotor CityTri E-310 on hilly terrain, I was genuinely impressed. It effortlessly conquered most of the hills I encountered, thanks to the impressive 90Nm of torque generated by the 750W motor. However, as the incline steepened, typically around 20 degrees, I did find myself needing to pedal a bit to assist the trike. I must admit, though, that the RAEV Bullet GT, which I recently tested, still holds the title of the ultimate hill conqueror, in my opinion!

Ride Quality

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike prioritizes your riding comfort above all else. It boasts a plush and well-cushioned seat complete with a supportive backrest, ensuring excellent comfort throughout your journeys. You also have the flexibility to modify the seat height and tailor the handlebar position to achieve the most ergonomic riding posture for your needs. The handlebars are thoughtfully designed with a slightly swept-back configuration, promoting an upright riding posture and providing convenient access to all controls.

The CityTri E-310 was quite nimble, and was able to execute remarkably tight maneuvers, with a really short turning radius. This agility makes it a breeze to navigate through crowded spaces. Nonetheless, when making sharp turns or corners at high speeds, you may observe some leaning behavior (but as I mentioned, this applies to all trikes and if you’ve had experience riding one before, it should come as no surprise).

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 comes equipped with a 48V 20Ah Samsung battery, offering a claimed maximum range of 90 miles when utilizing the lowest pedal assist setting. Please note that this range may vary due to factors such as total weight, degree of inclines, and other variables. During my testing on flat terrain without any cargo, I achieved a distance of approximately 25.5 miles using the highest level of pedal-assist.

If you’re in search of an electric vehicle with an exceptionally long range, you might consider the Aniioki A8 Pro Max, which boasts a massive 48V 60Ah battery (equivalent to 2,880Wh)… or the  Bandit X-Trail Pro is another great option too!

The CityTri E-310 has Tektro mechanical disc brakes, featuring 3 x 180 mm rotors on front and rear wheels, totaling three discs in all. The braking performance does leave a bit of room for improvement… I mean hydraulic brakes would have been a more favorable choice. However, there’s a silver lining as well. The CityTri E-310 also features a handy parking brake that lets you securely immobilize the trike whenever you’re stopping… be it a mid-ride break when running daily errands, or stopping on an incline.

The CityTri E-310 is equipped with an 80mm travel front suspension fork to provide cushioning for surface irregularities. The fork helps ensure a comfortable ride on paved roads and delivers sufficient suspension for urban commutes. In case you want a trike with suspension on both front and rear, Addmotor exclusively offers the magnificent full suspension SOLETRI M-366X trike as well.

Addmotor CityTri E-310 Features

As for the price, the Addmotor CityTri E-310 stands as one of the truly remarkable options among electric trikes. Its $1,999 tag might appear relatively high when compared to the two wheelers from the brand… but it’s worth noting that this price is on the lower end for trikes. As I mentioned before, what sets Addmotor apart from other rivals is the exceptional value the brand offers for the money. Also, it must be noted that the CityTri E-310 costs the same for all 3 wheel sizes!

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike boasts a robust all-aluminum folding frame constructed from 7020 & 6061 aluminum alloy. Weighing in at 86lbs, it’s not only sturdy but also highly capable of carrying substantial loads. The trike can accommodate up to 380lbs of weight. In terms of design, it features a step-through frame for effortless mounting, a quick folding build for easy storage and transport, internal wires, and a vibrant selection from five bright colors to choose from.

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike is equipped with a 48V 20Ah battery featuring high-quality Samsung cells, and positioned behind the seat post. Beyond its substantial capacity, the battery’s rear placement is a noteworthy feature. The battery is rated for 1000-1500 charge cycles and takes around 9-10 hours to fully charge.

LCD & Controls

The CityTri E-310 features a 5-inch LCD screen (fitted in the middle of the handlebar) to provide essential information about your ride, including your current speed, distance traveled, remaining battery capacity, selected pedal-assist mode, and all other other ride-related details. While the screen’s visibility may not be the best in all conditions, it still does the job. On the plus side, you have all the controls ergonomically spread on the handlebar.

The CityTri E-310 is available in three trims (Standard, Mini, and Plus) to cater to the diverse preferences and needs of riders. For the Standard E-310, the front tire measures 20 inches in diameter, while the rear tires are slightly smaller at 18 inches. This configuration is suitable for individuals with heights ranging from 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 9 inches.

In contrast, the Mini E-310 is equipped with an 18-inch front tire and 16-inch rear tires, making it a perfect choice for riders with heights spanning from 4 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 5 inches. This version offers a compact and nimble riding experience… and is ideal for people living in congested cities. Lastly, the Plus E-310 features a 22-inch front tire and 20-inch rear tires. This version is designed to accommodate taller riders, ranging from 5 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. All trims have 2.4-inch wide tires!

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike is equipped with a front LED light to illuminate your path in low-light conditions. Additionally, a rear light enhances your visibility to others when you’re on the road, besides also featuring turn signals. To further enhance safety, the trike features pedal and wheel reflectors for increased visibility.

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 includes a range of additional features to enhance both the enjoyment and safety of your ride. It comes equipped with pedal and wheel reflectors to enhance your visibility on the road, a horn to signal your presence to others, and full-length fenders on all wheels to shield you from splashes and mud.

The Addmotor CityTri E-310 electric trike comes with a 12-month warranty that covers nearly all components of the trike. The battery is, however, covered for 18 months… and the frame for 24 months. For detailed information on the warranty’s terms and conditions, you can visit  Addmotor’s official website, where they have provided a comprehensive explanation.

After thoroughly examining the Addmotor CityTri E-310 folding electric trike, I’m absolutely impressed with it. This fantastic three-wheeler excels in terms of value for money. Not only does it deliver exceptional performance, but it also offers a wide array of features that position it as a top contender in its category. What immediately sets it apart are its large Samsung battery, folding alloy frame, and the option to choose from 3 wheel sizes.

On the downside, I wish Addmotor had opted for hydraulic brakes and provided some storage baskets. However, despite these minor drawbacks, the CityTri E-310 remains a standout option in the electric trike market… mainly because of its super-affordable tag of $1,999 and the fact that it comes complete with everything from fenders and lights to numerous handy features, like the parking brake. With that, I’ll conclude this review.

If you’re thinking about looking at other options, here are two similar electric trikes that cost about the same as the Addmotor MF-3.

Addmotor CityTri E-310 Vs DWM IGI 3 Wheel

Both of these electric trikes have similar motor power and top speed. But the Addmotor CityTri E-310 has a longer range, as it has a larger battery when compared to the DWM IGI 3 Wheel. Additionally, the Addmotor CityTri E-310 is lighter and can carry a heavier load, which makes it a great option for transporting heavy items.
