Performance Review
The RAEV Bullet GT has a 48V 750W brushless hub motor that peaks at 1000W and generates a torque output of 75Nm. The bike features a thumb twist throttle as well as three levels of pedal-assist to let you adjust your riding. Like all other bikes in the price point, it uses a speed sensor to detect your pedaling cadence and provide electric assistance. As expected from its initial impressions, the Bullet GT performed like any other high-end ebike in all my tests. Here’s what I found out.
Performance Summary
Top Speed
The RAEV Bullet GT comes with a factory-set top speed of 20mph for Class 2 compliance. However, if you’re yearning for more thrill and adrenaline (and your state allows for Class 3), you can speed unlock it (steps in the FAQ section at the end). Once unblocked, I was able to hit a top speed of 28.5mph. And considering the Bullet GT’s weight of 83lbs, this level of performance is nothing short of exceptional.
Hill Climb
When it comes to tackling hills, the Bullet GT showcases its prowess effortlessly. With an impressive peak power of 1000W and a torque rating of 75Nm, this e-bike powers through inclines with confidence and ease. During my test rides on various terrains, the Bullet GT was able to shoot up every hill I tested it on. Its hill climbing ability was clearly superior to that of the Engwe M20, mainly because it has 20Nm of extra torque.
Acceleration
The RAEV Bullet GT e-bike delivered exceptional acceleration during my test ride. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bike rocket to 20mph in a mere 9 seconds. To provide some context, I rode it on a smooth asphalt pavement with no incline and average wind conditions. The initial burst of speed was truly impressive. And even though the acceleration slightly tapered off after that, it remained smooth and steady throughout my ride.
Range
As I mentioned before, the RAEV Bullet GT is available with a 48V 20Ah (960Wh) and a 48V 28Ah (1344Wh) Lithium-ion power source, with the latter offering an additional 48V 8Ah battery. Both battery options boast Samsung 21700 cells, which are renowned for their high energy density and reliability. I tested the single-battery (48V 20Ah) version, and was impressed with the results.
I was able to travel 34.2 miles using throttle most of the time, and my journey included a combination of flat stretches and hilly terrain. The range is truly remarkable, especially when considering the weight of the bike and its 750W nominal output. If you want to extend the range even further, you can opt for the dual-battery configuration, and can get the freedom to explore without worrying about running out of power.
Ride Quality
The ride quality of the Bullet GT was excellent, to say the least – thanks to the 4″ fat tires, dual suspension system, and large saddle, all of which worked in perfect harmony to provide a ride free of jerkiness or discomfort. The steering and cornering was also great, and I was able to effortlessly maneuver through tight spaces. Moreover, the power delivery was responsive, with no noticeable lag during acceleration.
One standout feature of the Bullet GT electric bike is its balanced weight distribution, which makes for a stable and safe ride on tracks. The frame geometry and riding posture was also quite decent. However, do keep in mind that the saddle position cannot be adjusted due to the bike’s moped design. On the bright side, the saddle is made from memory foam, and is therefore cushy and comfortable.
Braking
The RAEV Bullet GT doesn’t disappoint when it comes to braking power. This fat tire e-bike is equipped with 160mm hydraulic disc brakes with an electric cut-off sensor. During my testing, the Bullet GT was able to stop from an initial speed of 20mph within a distance of 12-15ft. The braking performance was consistent and reliable, well-suited for the bike’s weight, intended off-road use, and overall speed capabilities.
Suspension
When it comes to handling rough terrains, the RAEV Bullet GT shines with its dual suspension system. The front suspension features a hydraulic fork with 60mm of travel, which can be locked out and adjusted with rebound control as needed. The rear suspension, on the other hand, consists of a coil-spring with 40mm of travel. It may feel a bit stiffer, but thankfully it is also adjustable to match your preferences.
Transmission
The RAEV Bullet GT comes equipped with the Shimano Tourney 7S system, which is kind of standard for the price point. Shifting gears was fairly smooth during my testing. However, considering the intended purpose of the Bullet GT as a high-speed electric moped, it would have been nice to see an 8-speed system included.

RAEV Bullet GT Features
Price
The Bullet GT single battery version (48V 20Ah) is priced at $1,799…which is beyond reasonable considering its performance, styling, and features. For those seeking extended range and power, the dual battery version (48V 28Ah) comes in at $2,199. And in case, you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, you can also consider the base-level trim, the Bullet… which is available for $1,399.
However, it’s important to note that the Bullet has a lot of differences in specifications compared to the GT trim. It features a 500W (55Nm) motor compared to Gt’s 750W (75Nm motor), a 48V 13Ah battery with DMEGC 18650 cells compared to GT’s 48V 20Ah battery with Samsung 21700 cells, a coil spring in the front compared to GT’s dual suspension with hydraulic front fork, and mechanical disc brakes instead of hydraulic.
Frame
The frame is made of 6061 aluminum alloy, known for its strength and durability. Despite the lightweight frame material, the Bullet GT somehow still weighs 83lbs. This weight includes the battery, with the 8Ah battery weighing 5.5lbs and the 20Ah battery weighing 10.4lbs. Thankfully, the bike has a commendable load rating of 330lbs, making it suitable for riders of various sizes, including those on the heavier side.
Styling
The Bullet GT has a retro-inspired look that’s sure to turn heads, and is available in four color options: black, green, yellow, and red. Its minimalist moped frame, complemented by a generously-sized saddle and moto-style headlamp, create a stylish charm with a unique touch of nostalgic flair. The neat wiring and attention to detail further enhance its appeal on the road.
Battery
The Bullet GT comes equipped with Samsung 21700 50E cells, known for their high energy density. If you opt for the dual battery configuration, then in addition to the 20Ah battery, you’ll also have an extra 8Ah battery (Samsung 21700 40T) mounted on the downtube. Both batteries are removable and lockable, allowing for convenient charging and replacement. The bike comes with a 3A fast charger that tops up the 20Ah battery in 7 hours and the 8Ah battery in 2.5 hours.
LCD
The sleek and compact backlit LCD is designed to be clearly visible in daylight, allowing you to keep track of your speed, distance traveled, and battery level. Thankfully, the display is easy to read in low light conditions as well, ensuring that you have all the essential information at your fingertips at all times.
Lights
The RAEV Bullet GT is equipped with a 120 LUX moto-style round headlight to illuminate your path and enhance visibility during nighttime rides. It also features an integrated brake light at the rear, a rear reflector, and two wheel reflectors.
Accessories
The Bullet GT comes with dual plastic fenders as practical shields to protect you from getting wet or dirty when riding through muddy or wet terrain. You also have a sturdy side kickstand to park your bike with ease and stability wherever you go.
Tires
The Bullet GT electric bike is equipped with CST 20×4.0″ BFT fat tires with street knobby tread. These tires are designed to enhance grip and provide excellent traction on a variety of terrains. Moreover, the tires also help cushion your ride on bumpy city streets or rugged off-road tracks.
Warranty
The bike’s frame, fork, and electronics are covered for one year… and the battery is covered for 2 years from the delivery date or 500 life cycles, whichever comes first. The warranty protects against defects in material and workmanship. You can visit RAEV warranty policy here.
RAEV Bullet GT Alternatives & Competitors
If you’re looking to compare options, here are two main alternatives for the RAEV Bullet GT electric bike in a similar budget range.
RAEV Bullet GT vs Engwe M20
The Bullet GT’s main competitor, the Engwe M20, comes in at a lower price, but has a smaller battery (and consequently less range). The performance and top speed of the M20 is also less than the Bullet GT (despite a higher nominal output) due to its measly 55Nm torque. The Bullet GT also has a higher load capacity. Moreover, it has hydraulic brakes (compared to M20’s mechanical brakes) and hydraulic front fork instead of coil-spring. The only downside is that the Bullet GT weighs more, and that Engwe is an established brand!
RAEV Bullet GT vs Ouxi V8
The Bullet GT’s other notable competitor, the Ouxi V8, comes in at an even lower price. The V8’s battery is larger than that of the M20, but still smaller than the Bullet GT. Its load capacity is the same 330lbs, the weight is almost the same, and even the performance is quite similar. But it does not come with the dual suspension and has just a coil-spring fork in the front. The V8 also doesn’t have hydraulic brakes.
Here’s a brief comparison of these three moped-style fat tire electric bikes.

Conclusion
The RAEV Bullet GT surpasses expectations and presents a compelling package overall. With its powerful hub motor and stellar torque output, it delivers the performance you would expect from a high-performance electric moped. It performs admirably on hills and demonstrates its versatility on various terrains, making it an ideal choice for those seeking off-road adventures… while also looking different.
The bike’s dual suspension system, especially the hydraulic fork, contributes to a smooth and comfortable ride on rugged terrains, while the hydraulic disc brakes provide excellent all-weather stopping power. The weight distribution of the bike is well-balanced, adding to its overall stability. The memory foam seat further enhances the ride quality, ensuring that you can enjoy your journeys for extended periods.
Moreover, when it comes to range, the Bullet GT impresses with its 960Wh battery capacity, offering ample power for long rides. Opting for the dual battery option would extend the range even further, catering to those seeking extended adventures without worrying about running out of power. Yes, there are areas that could be improved, such as the bike’s weight and the limited number of pedal-assist levels, the strengths easily outweigh these minor drawbacks!
