Highlights
Performance Review
The Fucare Libra is equipped with a 750W SHENGYI brushless rear hub motor, which peaks at 1200W and delivers a solid 80Nm of torque. The motor is backed by a 960Wh Li-ion battery with Samsung cells. The bike offers a throttle mode as well as five levels of pedal-assist (PAS), allowing for flexibility in how you ride. You can also ride it manually as well. My initial impressions of the bike were positive, and I was not disappointed thankfully. Here’s a detailed look at the results.
Performance Summary
Acceleration
The Fucare Libra stands out with its peak power of 1200W and a torque rating of 80Nm. During my test ride, the bike’s acceleration exceeded my expectations. On a flat urban road, with moderate wind conditions and no uphill terrain, the Libra accelerated to 20mph in just 14 seconds. The initial burst of speed was striking, and while the acceleration tapered off after the initial surge, the bike maintained a consistent and seamless performance throughout the ride.

Top Speed
The Libra has a top speed of 32mph, which surpasses the typical Class 3 limit of 28mph. Now, this is noteworthy… considering the bike’s weight of 81.5 lbs. I mean achieving such a high speed with this weight shows how solid this bike is. However, keep in mind that exceeding the Class 3 speed limit is illegal in many states… so you need to keep an eye on the LCD.
Suspension
The Fucare Libra is well-suited for handling rough terrains, thanks to its top-notch suspension system. This includes a front hydraulic fork, rear shock, and seatpost suspension. The rear suspension features dual coil shocks, which might feel slightly stiffer at first… but they actually contribute a lot towards a cushioned ride. The inclusion of a seatpost suspension further ensures comfort, on and off the road.

Hill Climb
The Libra showcased amazing hill-climbing performance, thanks to its 80Nm motor. While the brand claims the bike can handle inclines up to 30°, my tests found that it performs comfortably on hills up to 20°. Despite not fully meeting the advertised maximum, I was still happy with its climbing ability, considering its weight. If I were to rate a bike higher in hill climbing ability from the ones I recently tested, I really liked the Amyet S8.
Ride Quality
The Fucare Libra offers impressive ride quality, both on and off the road, thanks to its 4″ fat tires and a remarkable full suspension system, which includes a front hydraulic fork, dual rear shocks, and a seatpost suspension. During my test ride, the bike delivered a smooth and comfortable ride, free from jerking or discomfort. Moreover, its steering and cornering were equally noteworthy… and I could effortlessly navigate in narrow spaces. The power delivery was also reasonably responsive with no noticeable lag during acceleration despite the cadence sensor.
The bike’s frame geometry and riding posture are well-designed, enhancing the overall riding experience. The frame is step-thru to ensure convenient mounting by women, elderly, and people with limited mobility. Additionally, the height-adjustable saddle ensures an ergonomic riding posture so that you can ride for an extended period without getting tired. Last but not least, if you get Libra with the passenger set, you will get a backrest and footpegs for added passenger comfort.

Transmission
The Libra features a Shimano Tourney 7-speed system, which is typical for e-bikes in its price range. During testing, the gear shifting was smooth and reliable. However, considering the Libra’s design as a high-speed electric bike, an 8-speed system might have been preferable. With a 7-speed setup, you often encounter ghost pedaling at higher speeds. But you can’t complain considering how much the bike already offers with a sub-$1000 tag.

Braking
The Libra ebike comes equipped with 180mm hydraulic disc brakes, which offer exceptional stopping performance. While I didn’t conduct a formal brake distance test, I found the brakes to be reliable and consistent during my rides. Usage of hydraulic brakes is apt… considering the bike’s weight and high speed capabilities. These brakes are the best you could get… and you can depend on them for consistent and adequate stopping power whether on paved roads or rougher terrain.

Range
The Fucare Libra is powered by a 48V 20Ah (960Wh) Lithium-ion battery featuring 21700 Samsung cells. In my range test, the bike performed impressively, covering 34.7 miles using a mix of throttle and PAS 5. The test included both flat and hilly terrain. I was impressed with the bike’s ability to deliver such a good range despite its high nominal power output and its substantial weight. In my opinion, it can be a good option for longer rides.

Overall, the build quality of the Libra is almost flawless… it gives a premium feel despite its more budget-friendly price tag.

LCD
The Libra is equipped with a 5” Yolin color LCD display that enables riders to easily track key information such as speed, distance traveled, and battery level. The display’s readability is, unfortunately, not good in daylight… and it’s the only downside of this ebike that you might keep in your mind. Additionally, the display offers a range of functionalities, allowing riders to customize their experience according to their preferences.

Battery
As I previously said, the Libra is powered by a 48V 20Ah (960Wh) Lithium-ion battery featuring 21700 Samsung cells. It is positioned behind the seat for convenient access and can be easily removed for charging at home or at the office. The bike comes with a 48V 3A fast charger, which can fully recharge the battery in 6-7 hours. The battery is also lockable, to ensure security when it’s parked outside.

Accessories
The Fucare Libra includes a padded rear seat with a 100 lbs load rating. Riders can also get a basket set (front and rear baskets for carrying cargo) or a passenger set, which comes with a backrest and footpegs. The bike features dual fenders that effectively prevent splashes and debris… and for parking, it is equipped with a sturdy side kickstand. Additionally, the bike has wheel and pedal reflectors for added safety, as well as an electric horn for alerting others on road.

Tires
The Fucare Libra is equipped with INNOVA 20×4.0” fat tires featuring a street tread pattern. These tires are engineered to offer improved grip and excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, whether navigating city streets or tackling beaten paths. Additionally, the fat tires enhance ride comfort by providing superior cushioning, which helps absorb shocks and vibrations on uneven surfaces.

Warranty
The Fucare Libra comes with a one-year warranty covering the frame, fork, electronics, battery, and other components from the delivery date. This warranty protects against defects in workmanship, materials, or any factory defaults. For more details, you can visit the Fucare warranty policy here.

Both models feature dual suspension for comfort. Overall, the Libra offers better performance and capacity… but at a slightly higher cost.
Fucare Libra vs Heybike Mars
The Fucare Libra and Heybike Mars differ notably in several aspects. The Libra has a 750W motor, while the Mars has a 500W motor, which gives Libra a higher top speed of 32 mph. The Libra also benefits from a larger 960Wh battery, translating to a longer range of 34.7 miles compared to Mars’s 29.6 miles of range from its 600Wh battery.
The Libra is, however, heavier at 81.5 lbs versus Mars’s 66 lbs… but supports a higher load rating of 400 lbs. Compared to that, the Heybike Mars supports 330 lbs. Moreover, the Libra features dual suspension, while the Mars has only a front suspension. Pricewise, the Libra is priced higher than the Mars. If you ask me, both bikes are really, really good options… and you can go for either of them depending on your budget. But if you can afford it, I’ll suggest you go for the Libra.

Its combination of reliability, impressive load capacity, and performance makes it a top recommendation for anyone in the market for a dependable and practical e-bike.
