Today, I’ll be reviewing the RetroVolt Pro. It is constructed on the premise of having riders who seek high performance, stability at speed, and the ride that seems substantial as opposed to lightweight or delicate.
Sitting in between the classic electric bicycle and light electric cruiser, RetroVolt Pro is aimed at the riders who are less interested in aggressive delivery of power, long term trip comfort and are able to ride on uneven routes without always having to control their bikes. Having ridden it on city streets, bumpy pavements and open roads, I became a fan of it really. Let’s have a look at what it offers.

Summary
Performance
The RetroVolt Pro provides a riding experience with a feel of confidence on the road and not aggressive, thanks to its potent 2000W peak motor with 90Nm of torque. The acceleration is good and steady, so there is no problem merging in the traffic or driving away when making a turn. The transmission is also not rough, and there are no sharp bursts of power that may surprise a novice rider.

The bike is stable at the cruising speed. The RetroVolt Pro still has predictable handling even at speeds that exceed the normal commuter speed. This feel of control is enhanced by the longer wheelbase and the overall weight when one rides in an open road where a steady flow is more important than fast maneuvering.
I also liked its performance in hill climbing. The bike has a momentum on medium slopes, so the rider does not need to make much effort. The support is not hectic but at the same time helps to keep steadfast balance and confidence especially on rushing uphill, on rough or broken pavements.

The most interesting aspect of day to day riding is the composure of the bike when loaded. Be it walking with a backpack or being on the road on long routes, the RetroVolt Pro does not even feel like it is pushing its boundaries.
Range
The RetroVolt Pro features a massive 52V 20Ah battery. It’s honestly one of the massive battery packs I have tested recently. During my test ride, I was able to cope with long distances, even when it had to ride very long distances without recharging the battery too often. Under mixed riding conditions, which means a combination of constant riding, sporadic acceleration, and medium pedal assistance, the bike was able to reach at least the range of full day riding on a comfortable basis.

Instead of considering the maximum range claims, the more useful lesson learned is the sense of predictability of the battery performance. There is no abrupt use of support as the battery level declines. Rather, the power output is consistent, and the rider does not have to fear that, upon a long ride, power output will suddenly drop.
It is easy and convenient to charge. The removable battery design allows one to charge the device at home, and it is particularly convenient when it comes to apartment residents or those the riders who lack access to external charging stations. Recharging will be easily accommodated into normal routine of an overnight schedule and daily use is manageable and practical.
Capability
The RetroVolt Pro is better than just suitable on smooth pavement. There is always a sense of control instead of jolting when riding on broken roads, potholes and gravel roads. The dual suspension system is just awesome… and it operates in the background absorbing the imperfections without attracting attention.

The bike has traction and balance on loose grounds enabling the riders to remain calm, rather than worrying about the possibility of hitting surfaces. This is an apparent difference when riding longer distances because fatigue is frequently experienced as a result of many vibrations and not distance.
The 20×4” fat tires are also versatile, they have grip on most surfaces, such as dirt paths, loose gravel and wet pavement. Although it is not a technical trail bike, it manages the light off road situations without any hesitation and seems to be comfortable in mixed surface riding.

Another strength is that of load handling. The additional weight does not have any observable impact on the stability or the ride, which is why the RetroVolt Pro would be suitable to commute, have errands, or go on a longer recreational ride with a load.
Safety
Bearing in mind weight and speed potential of the bike, braking performance is one of the crucial factors and it provides promising results. Stopping power is powerful and in control even when decelerating at a lower speed, thanks to reliable hydraulic brakes. The braking reaction is not sharp but gradual and this ensures that the stability is not lost and the wheels do not lock up when there is sudden stop.

This translates into confidence in real life riding. The bike will react in a predictable way when approaching roadblocks, going through down hills, or responding with a surprise, and it does not lose it head when braking.
Visibility is also prudently taken into consideration. The combination of front and rear lighting system allows the bike to be easily noticed in the dark and when riding at night. This provides a significant level of protection to the commuters and evening riders particularly in city surroundings.

The stability of the bike is also increased because of its overall stability. The weight and tire footprint also make it remain on the ground even when it is riding over uneven surfaces or through loose debris.
Ride Quality
One of the strengths of the RetroVolt Pro is ride comfort. The sitting posture promotes easy, straight sitting posture that dispels the lower back and shoulder strain. This causes an apparent distinction when it comes to rides that are longer in nature where comfort is more valuable than speed itself.

The saddle is well supported but not too soft, which is a balance that is able to work effectively during long term use. Together with the suspension and tire configuration, the road vibrations have been filtered out delivering a smooth and controlled ride.
The controls are user friendly and highly accessible. The throttle response is predictable and the change between the various levels of assistance is smooth and does not occur abruptly. This will render the bike affordable to many riders, both casual and experienced riders.

The RetroVolt Pro is stable and confidence inspiring at higher speeds. Although its weight may be felt when handling the bike at very low speeds and when it is being moved by hand, it has its positive side when the bike is in motion.
Design
On the visual level, the RetroVolt Pro adopts a strong retro moped design, which makes it unique among the traditional e-bikes. The design is also not ornamental, but purposeful, and the proportions are corresponding to the performance oriented nature of the bike.

The frame assembly is firm and strong in the way it conveys the feeling of power to the bike. It is not a touchy, minimalist bike, but one that is designed to be ridden on a regular basis and to work under different conditions and be fine.
The display, which is centrally located, is clear and easy to read, showing the required ride information without being cluttered. It is easy to blend into the entire design and not lost in the various lighting circumstances.

The simple features of the design, like the size of the handlebar and the location of the controls, are added to the overall usability of the bike. Although the bike is heavy sided, the design has allowed the weight to be distributed in a manner that promotes balance and not a demerit to the weight.
Practicality
The RetroVolt Pro is a convenient and fun ride as a daily rider. It has high capacity to cope with bad road conditions, hence it is quite appropriate in urban settings whereby the quality of pavement varies. Also, it has got a sturdy rear rack for your cargo needs.
The easy riding stance and flow of power relieves the fatigue, even on the longer commutes. Riders who prefer comfort and consistency to aggressive handling will love the ease of life that the bike provides in day-to-day life.

Parking and storage are a bit of an issue as the bike is too large and heavy to be packed easily, and this is to be expected since it is built. Riders receive in exchange a machine that seems to be solid and reliable, as opposed to cheap and expendable.
The RetroVolt Pro is a bike that can be integrated into daily lives of people who intend to use it on a regular basis, either as a commuter or recreational bike, or as a light tourist bike.
Price
The RetroVolt Pro is a competitive product in terms of high-powered e-bikes. It provides a level of performance, comfort, and quality of the structure that usually would be linked to more costly models. The bike presents a balanced package as opposed to having a single outstanding feature. Riders are getting ride confidence, long life usability, and a work that does not sacrifice functionality to style.
The RetroVolt Pro may be a reasonable compromise for those seeking to get out of the entry-level bike category but remain below the electric motorcycle market.
