Aniioki is a new brand that aims to build electric bikes that “balance aesthetics and practicality” and have the potential to “transform urban mobility”. Their recent release, the A8 Pro Max, features a 1000W brushless hub motor backed by a colossal 48V 60Ah (2,880Wh) Lithium-ion power source, dual hydraulic disc brakes, and dual suspension system.

Aniioki has also released the A8 Pro Max with a 52V version that I was unable to test. But the 48V version was mighty enough to impress me. I quickly took a fancy to its security alarm system and its wireless key that enabled me to lock/ unlock the bike from quite a distance. But that’s not all. I found the bike impressive in every test I put it to. Here’s what I found.

Performance Review

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max has a 1000W brushless rear hub motor that peaks at 1400W and generates a respectable torque of 90Nm. The bike has a half twist throttle as well as five levels of pedal-assist so that you can adjust your riding. It makes use of a cadence sensor to detect pedaling input and provide seamless electric assistance. My initial impressions of the bike were really good and luckily it didn’t disappoint me in any of the tests. Here’s what I found out.

Hill Climb

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max truly excels when it comes to conquering hills. With its remarkable peak power of 1400W and an impressive torque rating of 90Nm, this e-bike can flatten any incline. Throughout my test rides on diverse terrains, the A8 Pro Max consistently demonstrated its ability to effortlessly ascend every hill I encountered. Its hill climbing performance easily surpassed that of both Engwe M20 and RAEV Bullet GT – two of my favorite rides that I tested recently.

Aniioki A8 Pro Max ebike

Top Speed

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max comes as a Class 3 e-bike, with a max speed of 28mph. However, for those seeking an extra dose of excitement, it is possible to unlock higher speeds (refer to the FAQ section below for detailed instructions). Once I followed the unlocking process, I successfully reached an impressive top speed of 32mph. Now this is truly exceptional, considering the bike’s weight of 101lbs. So, yeah a solid performer!

Ride Quality

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max provided an excellent ride quality both on and off the road. This can be attributed to its 4″ fat tires and a top-notch suspension system. Throughout my testing, I enjoyed a smooth and comfortable ride without any jerking or discomfort. The steering and cornering capabilities were also impressive, with effortless navigation in narrow spaces. Furthermore, the power delivery was highly responsive, with no noticeable lag during acceleration.

One standout aspect of the A8 Pro Max electric bike is its balanced weight distribution, contributing to a stable and secure ride on various tracks. The frame geometry and riding posture are also well-designed, ensuring a decent riding experience. The saddle is height adjustable, but the handlebar is not. Luckily, the saddle felt comfy even after hours of testing.

Acceleration

During my test ride, I was amazed by the remarkable acceleration of the Aniioki A8 Pro Max. It surpassed my expectations as it swiftly propelled itself to a speed of 20mph in a mere 10 seconds. I tested the speed on a level asphalt surface, with no uphill terrain and moderate wind conditions. The initial burst of speed left a lasting impression, and while the acceleration gradually eased off, it maintained a consistent and seamless pick throughout the entire ride.

Braking

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max fat tire e-bike is outfitted with 180mm hydraulic disc brakes, delivering exceptional stopping performance. During my testing, I observed that the bike could halt from an initial speed of 20mph within an impressive distance of 11-13ft. The braking performance remained reliable and consistent throughout, which is particularly suitable for the bike’s heavy weight, overall speed capabilities, and intended off-road usage.

Range

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max boasts a colossal 48V 60Ah (2,880Wh) Lithium-ion battery. The results of the range test left me thoroughly impressed. I was able to cover a distance of 126.3 miles, employing a combination of throttle and PAS 5, while encountering both flat stretches and hilly terrain. This range is truly remarkable, considering the bike’s weight and its 1000W nominal output. This is one of the longest range ebikes on the market – definitely the longest I have tested so far. On lower assist levels, I believe you can easily get 150+ miles!

Suspension

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max excels in handling rough terrains, thanks to an impressive dual suspension system. The front suspension incorporates a hydraulic fork that, regrettably, cannot be locked or adjusted. However, it provides effective dampening during off-road rides. The rear suspension is equipped with dual spring shocks, which may feel slightly stiffer initially. However, they are adjustable and can ensure a somewhat smooth riding experience, making it easier to tackle rough terrains.

Transmission

The Aniioki A8 Pro Max is equipped with a Shimano Tourney 7-speed system, which is commonly found in e-bikes within its price range. During my testing, I found the gear shifting to be relatively smooth and reliable. However, given the A8 Pro Max’s intended purpose as a high-speed electric moped, it would have been better to see an 8-speed system incorporated.
