Highlights
Performance Review
The V8 is equipped with a 750-watt brushless motor with a peak power output of 1000 watts. This peak power ensures that the riders can use it for exciting adventures and that too across different terrains. The V8 offers three distinct riding modes: pure electric, 5-level pedal assist, and regular cycling. The pedal-assist mode relies on a cadence sensor… that doesn’t provide the instant responsiveness of the torque sensors which is found in expensive high-end bikes, but kind of does the job!
Performance Summary
Acceleration
When I tested the V8, it showed outstanding acceleration. It could hit a speed of 20 mph within just 14 seconds. I was quite impressed by this result, since the bike weighs 84 pounds. I would also like to point out that this accelerating time came out on a flat and smooth road with fair wind conditions.
The V8 is a 1000W peak e-bike but its nominal power is 750W. You should keep in mind that peak power is the maximum output that a motor can achieve and that is for a short time. The nominal power output, on the other hand, is the sustained output capability.

Top Speed
On smooth urban roads, the V8 reached a maximum speed of 30.4 mph… which meant that it surpassed Class 3 regulations of 28 mph. If I consider the weight and price of the V8, this kind of speed is spectacular. However, you should keep in mind that this speed is beyond the speed limit in most of the states.
Suspension
The V8 is equipped with a front suspension system to help with shock absorption. Also, you have 4-inch fat tyres and a plush saddle to further absorb bumps in your way. Due to all these features, the V8 can absorb bumps and give riders a reasonably plush ride.

Hill Climb
When I tested the V8 across different terrains, it displayed good performance on inclinations. I was able to ride on almost every hill without any problem and the bike provided a steady and reliable climb. The bike’s performance was equally good whether I used pedal assist or relied solely on the throttle. In my opinion, if I compare the V8 to other models in its class, its hill-climbing ability is commendable… (almost comparable to the Engwe M20).
Ride Quality
The V8 offers a comfortable and pleasant ride. The bike is designed with a balanced weight distribution that enhances stability on different terrains. Also, its ergonomic frame geometry and riding posture make sure your journey is comfortable. It is also because of the fact that the V8 has 4-inch fat tyres and a front suspension system. It also has a large cushioned saddle as well.
When it comes to handling the V8, it performs pretty well. Although the cadence sensor might not be as quick to respond as the more expensive torque sensors found in higher-end models, still this is a reasonable trade-off considering the V8’s price tag. The slight delay in power engagement because of the cadence sensor is not noticeable by many riders.

Transmission
The V8 comes with a seven-speed Shimano transmission. Shifting between gears was smooth and easy. However, I encountered some ghost pedaling at higher speeds, which is a common issue faced by riders when they ride high-speed bikes. It becomes more noticeable when the bike crosses 25 mph. The only way to eliminate the problem is by using an 8 or 9-speed gear set. Also, another option is to use throttle at high speeds, as it allows riders to bypass pedaling altogether.
Braking
The V8 comes with dual mechanical disc brakes. Although I did not conduct a brake-distance test, my overall impression of the V8’s braking performance was not bad. The V8’s brakes exhibit adequate stopping power… However, given the bike’s speed capabilities, weight, and off-road usage, I think usage of hydraulic brakes over mechanical ones would have been more appropriate. But the brand has to cut corners in some areas to offer you that super affordable price!

Range
The V8 offers a great range, thanks to its large 48V 15Ah (720Wh) Lithium-ion power plant. When I was testing it, I rode the bike using a combination of throttle and PAS 5… and traversed both flat road stretches and hilly terrain. Doing so, I was able to cover a distance of 26.2 miles. Keeping into account, the bike’s power output, weight, and affordable cost, this range is exceptional. Also, on lower assist settings, you can expect the range to increase even more.
